Foot & Ankle Surgery

Our knees take plenty of strain throughout our lives, contributing to common knee problems. Whether it's extensive exercise, a sporting injury or old age, many factors play a role in the health of our knees.

The knee comprises the tibiofemoral and patellofemoral joints, which connect the upper and lower bones and kneecap. Ligaments and muscles work together to stabilise the knee joints, but these can become worn down or damaged.

Dr Seevasgath provides comprehensive care for knee problems through several invasive and minimally invasive procedures.

Total Knee Replacement

There is no definite determiner of when you should have a knee replacement, but if you struggle to perform everyday tasks due to knee pain, you need help. The standard incision size can be as long as 10 inches, but Dr Seevasgath uses a minimally invasive method of the procedure, which can result in shorter incisions.

ACL Reconstruction

An anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) sprain or tear is one of the most common injuries found in the knee. Tissue graft replacement is sometimes necessary to restore standard knee functionality. The extent of the reconstruction you need will depend on the degree of the damage.

Ligament Reconstruction

The primary soft tissue stabilisers are the medial and lateral collateral ligament complexes. A problem in the knee area may lead to pain in your thigh or lower leg. People experience different symptoms and can receive treatment.

Arthroscopic Meniscus Repair and Debridement

Your knee gets direct pressure from your body weight and from running or walking. The meniscus is made up of cartilage and acts as a shock absorber for your knee. Arthroscopic meniscus repair and debridement will help distribute body weight across the knee so that it is supported adequately by your bones and can provide stability to the problem area.

Medial Patellofemoral Ligament (MPFL) Reconstruction

The medial patellofemoral ligament helps stabilise your kneecap. Patients usually return to regular activity after the procedure. Depending on your needs, Dr Seevasgath will repair or reconstruct the ligament. Most injuries can be restored to bring back comfort and quality of life.
